About Dr. Devon Christie, MD, CCFP, IFMCP, RTC

Dr. Devon Christie is the lead facilitator for this course. She is Senior Lead of Psychedelic Programs at Numinus which involves developing and implementing psychedelic-assisted therapy protocols and therapist trainings, thought leadership, and research. She also has a clinical role at Numinus delivering KAT at Numinus: The Drive. Beyond her roles at Numinus, she is a practicing medical doctor with a focused practice in chronic pain, as well as Registered Therapeutic Counsellor emphasizing Relational Somatic Therapy for trauma resolution and KAT. She's also a clinical instructor with the University of British Columbia Department of Medicine, and a researcher and research therapist investigating MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD with the Multidiscipilinary Association for Psychedelic Studies. Her personal practice in yoga and mindfulness meditation dates back to her late teens, and she has completed several trainings including Shamanic Yoga Teacher Training in Peru in 2012, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher certification in 2016, and Kundalini Yoga Teacher Certification in 2019. Her interest in psychedelic-assisted therapy began in 2011 after she met her mentor, colleague, and friend Dr. Gabor Maté and learned about his work with ayahuasca. As a medical doctor, she has always been interested in non-traditional approaches to therapy and treatment. Her personal healing journey and inner exploration with psychedelics has paralleled her passion and dedication to evolving this field as part of our health care system. Her unique and diverse clinical background, combined with rich personal experience helps her better understand and synthesize healing across disciplines — something Numinus is on a mission to achieve. She is an uninvited 3rd generation settler and grateful to be living, working, and playing on the beautiful, traditional, and ancestral homelands of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
