Observing Clients

In the Observational Period pre-work, we observed a client under the effects of ketamine in a Medicine Session.

In this final pre-work module, we'll observe another client undergoing a Ketamine Session. Consider the differences and similarities in the approaches taken by Dr. Reid Robison (from the Observational Period) and Dr. Stephen Thayer (video below).

Video: Client Medicine Session with Dr. Stephen Thayer

55:52

Numinus psychologist Dr. Stephen Thayer facilitates a Ketamine Session with a client. You're not expected to watch the whole video, however it is encouraged. If you're watching parts of the video, please watch preparing for the administration of the medicine, the client under the effects of the medicine, and some of her reflection as the medicine's effects have worn off.

Note

In the video, Dr. Thayer whispers during the Ketamine Session since the video was recorded as a teaching tool in order to provide important context. Please keep in mind that during a Medicine Session, you should avoid talking. If you need to speak to your lead or co-therapist during the Medicine Session, please write down your message. Please avoid talking to prevent disrupting the client's process.
