Module Summary
The Numinus Care Model and our vision for psychedelic-assisted therapy is woven with justice, equity, dignity, and inclusion (JEDI) which seeks to eliminate health disparities experienced by marginalized communities as well as prioritizes racial justice and eliminate systemic oppression. Throughout the module, we looked at some these shocking health disparities and provided a brief glimpse into the historical context (up to and including present day) of why some communities have low trust in health care. As psychedelic-assisted therapist, it is important to learn about oppression and inequity so that we can personally work to make healthcare more equitable at the micro, mezzo, and macro level, as we’ll learn more about in the Fundamentals of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy course.
