Module Summary
In our first module, we took a look at where the term psychedelic comes from and why it may not be the most applicable term within an Indigenous context due to its associated stigma because of the “war on drugs.” We met the medicines and explored the different categories of psychedelics including the classic psychedelics like mushrooms, ayahuasca, LSD; the empathogens or entactogens like MDMA; the dissociative anesthetics like ketamine; and the atypicals like cannabis.
