This course is a team-taught course. Each facilitator has a different area of expertise and brings with them a unique set of skills and experiences in the psychedelic-asissted therapy space. Each session will be taught by a different combination of facilitators.

Dr. Joe Flanders, PhD
Regional Psychotherapy Director and Executive Clinical Advisor, Psychology

Dr. Joe Flanders is a licensed psychologist, with an active practice in psychotherapy and psychedelic-assisted therapy. He has previously served as a co-therapist for a MAPS MDMA-assisted therapy clinical trial and provided psilocybin-assisted therapy through Health Canada’s Special Access Program, in addition to his ongoing ketamine-assisted therapy work at Numinus clinics. He is also currently the Regional Psychotherapy Director (Quebec) and clinical lead of Practitioner Training for Numinus.
Joe has been on a life-long journey in the pursuit of the most effective approaches for cultivating well-being – his own and that of his clients. In the last decade of that journey, Joe acted as the Founder and Director of Mindspace, a centre for well-being with several locations and over 35 mental health professionals in Montreal.
Dr. Patricia Rockman, MD, CCFP

Dr. Patricia Rockman is a family physician with a focused practice in mental health. She is the co-founder of and senior director of education and clinical services for the Centre for Mindfulness Studies in Toronto. She is responsible for curriculum development, service delivery and professional training. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, cross-appointed to Psychiatry. Patricia Rockman has extensive experience teaching healthcare providers in the areas of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Change Management and Stress Reduction, Mindfulness Based Programs and most recently in psychedelic assisted psychotherapy. She has a strong interest in continuing education in mental health and addictions, yoga and meditative practice. She is a co-author of a number of books and articles, including Managing Uncertainty in Mental Healthcare, published by Oxford University Press.
Deanna Rogers, H BA, MA C

Deanna has been working with plant medicines for over the last decade for personal healing and discovery. She has worked with the Temple of the Way of Light, The Integration Circle, and has run her own private practice for the last five years. She has also collaborated with psychedelic leaders such as Double-Blind Magazine and Psychedelics Today. She has worked in this field for the last ten years and has supported hundreds of people with many aspects of plant medicine and psychedelic experiences including applicant assessment, program design, preparation, retreat facilitation, group processing, and integration support, and has run several psychedelic harm reduction focused consultation groups for healthcare professionals. Her goal is to empower people to cultivate a deep connection to self, to help integrate trauma and align to their path going forward. She has trained with and is inspired by Indigenous Healers, Dr. Gabor Maté, Compassionate Inquiry, Somatic Experiencing, and is currently doing her master’s in counseling psychology. Curiosity and compassion are two of the main tools that she brings to this work.
Dr. Devon Christie, MD, CCFP, IFMCP, RTC

Dr. Christie MD is a clinical instructor with the UBC Department of Medicine and has a focused practice in chronic pain management. She is also a Registered Counsellor emphasizing Relational Somatic Therapy for trauma resolution, and a certified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher (UCSD). She is trained to deliver both MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD (MAPS USA) and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. She teaches for the California Institute of Integral Studies Certificate Program in Psychedelic Therapy and Research, the Integrative Psychiatry Institute Certificate Program in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy, and the ONCA Foundation Psychedelic Therapy program. She is a Principal Investigator and study therapist for a current Canadian MAPS PBC-sponsored 20-participant open-label clinical trial investigating MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD. Devon is the Medical and Therapeutic Services Director with Numinus Wellness Inc., and is a recognized speaker and expert on the potential for incorporating psychedelic assisted therapies in an improved health care model for the future.
