Module 1 Overview

Welcome to Module 1!

Please take some time to review the structure of this module to understand what tasks you’re required to do, what virtual face-to-face sessions you’re required to attend, and what evaluations you need to submit. Time estimates for each activity have been provided to help you plan your time this week.

Virtual Face-to-Face Sessions

Please ensure that you attend the following virtual face-to-face sessions to practice some of the key skills you have learned this week.

    • 9:00AM to 12:00PM PT

    • 12:00PM to 3:00PM ET

    • 6:00PM to 9:00PM CET

To join the live session, please return to the learning plan, select the live session you're trying to join, select the toggle button, and select Join. The join button will be hidden until 1 hour before the session begins. Under the Content tab in the live session module, you will find a detailed agenda for the live session. If there are any notes or handouts from the session, they can also be found under the Content tab.

Group Practice

You should meet with your group after the virtual face-to-face session at whatever time is most convenient for your group to practise the following exercises:

You have not yet been assigned a practice group. The groups will be posted after the first virtual face-to-face session.

Don't forget to make some notes about the activities and topics you covered. At the end of the course, you will submit this log of your activities for grading. For more information, visit Practice Group Logs.

  • Introduce yourselves to your group and be sure to include pronoun(s)

  • You are encouraged to acknowledge the traditional and ancestral Indigenous territory(ies) you are participating from

  • Describe your primary motivation for taking the course and your current area/background of practice

  • Reflect on the Integrative and Transformative care model and its Guiding Principles together. Is there a time when you sought health care, or were witness to someone’s health care journey, where you either received (or did not receive) care aligned with this approach? What was this like? What could have been done better? What aspects of this care model do you wish had been present (if any) and how might this have changed your experience
