Module Summary
This module looked primarily at complex PTSD and how it differs from PTSD with three key additional diagnostic criteria: affect dysregulation, negative self-concept, and interpersonal disturbances. We looked at the recommended treatment approach and potential for psychedelic-assisted therapy to support treatment. We also compared complex PTSD with borderline personality disorder, somatic symptom disorder, and dissociative disorders as there are symptom overlaps. Finally, we looked at life course theory and case conceptualization. In the live session, you will look at other complex cases.
