This course will prioritize a transdiagnostic perspective in the treatment planning of mental health. While it is still important for health professionals to be familiar with the rigid categorization in the DSM and ICD, health professionals should also be familiar with many of its shortcomings including its lack of a transdiagnostic approach and the possibility of racial, gender, and other biases. We also looked at comparing the Research Domain Criteria and how other process-based third-wave therapies can play a role in increasing psychological flexibility within the context of psychedelic-assisted therapy.
